BAD SHEPHERDS IN THE LAST DAYS
I am concerned about the many bad shepherds out there within the professing Christian church. It is getting very hard to find a good Bible believing church run by a pastor who loves the Lord and seeks to build up and edify God's people. As a result some Christians are unable to find a good church to attend. This is a real problem for some Christians. Below are some signs of a bad pastor who serves himself rather than the Lord Jesus:
- does not love the Lord or has lost his first love to the Lord Jesus
- does not have the goal of edifying and building up God's people
- does not love God's people
- does not take the role as a pastor seriously before the Lord. This attitude will bring judgment from the Lord
- Seeks power
- Seeks wealth
- Seeks praise
- Seeks a large church so he fills it with unbelievers (Alpha course, promise keepers, purpose driven, other ecumenical fads)
- Preaches bland and non-convicting messages that will not offend the lost. Of course no one will ever get saved by these types of sermons
- Brings in the latest doctrine rejecting 'fads' or rock music into the church to entertain the goats or to bring more unbelievers. Examples would be "Christian" psychologists (self love), the occult via Tolkien or C.S. Lewis, Entertainment would be worldly songs/videos, rock and roll music, bland and mindless chorus's sung over and over again which replace the great hymns of the faith.
Ezek 44
11 Yet they shall be ministers in my sanctuary, having charge at the gates of the house, and ministering to the house: they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.
12 Because they ministered unto them before their idols, and caused the house of Israel to fall into iniquity; therefore have I lifted up mine hand against them, saith the Lord GOD, and they shall bear their iniquity.
13 And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.
Jer 23
1 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the Lord.
2 Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord.
Pastors, you need to do what is necessary to clean up your church if any of Satan's deceptions have been accepted.
Christians remember, don't allow yourself to be blind and deceived by any of Satan's deceptions! Wake up and remember the warning from the Lord Jesus:
Matt 24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
All I can say is get out if you are in such a church. Prayerfully keep looking as the Lord does want His people to gather together in these last days. This way Christians can pray for each other, encourage each other, mature and grow in the Lord, and serve the Lord together.
Heb 10
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
If you still cannot find a solid church then a home church would be a possibility. Failing that, keep looking and there are always good sermons in mp3 format to freely download from the internet. I recommend going to www.sermonaudio.com as there are many good sermons to be found.
